On to Cairns to see the Great Barrier Reef. We were slightly dismayed to find ourselves on a boat with 400 other people but when it reached the platform there was effectively double the space. After that it was quite pleasant, Margaret swam with her goggles and we both went in the submersible. I saw a shark and a turtle but only managed a picture of a garoupa. Cairns is very pleasant, a bit like Miami Beach without the edge!
