February and March trip

The first leg of the trip took us to California, the weather was fairly miserable but we had a great time with our friends.

We visited a redwood forest where the light effect was magical , see my sleeping otter at the end of the pictures here

The weather fell apart so we went to the fabulous California Museum of Science

Then on to super Sydney where we saw both the new Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary arrive and depart, had lunch with friends who were travelling on

the Queen Elizabeth, visited the Fish Market as well as the Opera. From our hotel room we had a spectacular view

of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House, see pix of Margaret playing an on line bridge match!

Then on to Perth and the Margaret River, we had a few days on the beach at Scarborough and a boat trip on the Swan River to Freemantle

Freemantle is a pretty cool place although the weather was very hot.

We drove down to the Margagaret River wine region visiting Moss Wood and Leeuwein.

The latter is spectacular and has a magnificent collection of Modern Australian artworks commissioned for its art wine series

And finally to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur . Singapore has many spectacular buildings and shop till you drop venues.

Kuala Lumpur is a tremendous malange of the old and new.

See picturesa of our visit to the fish restaurant, a bit like going to an aquarium and saying that's a nice fish!

Next minute its on a plate in front of you!
