A Visit to Balymaloe House

Having seen Balymaloe House in Cork on a Rick Stein programme I had always wanted to go there

So I persuaded Margaret that our 30th Wedding Anniversary was sufficient excuse
We spent 3 nights there from July 1
It is a grand building, originally Norman. The food sources are local and a lot of produce is from their farm
Myrtle Allan was around devising the menus. We also visited the cookery school, the gardens are wonderful there and we attended a demonstration in the afternoon by Delrina Allan. The twelve week cookery course is nearly 9000 euros plus your keep.
Kinsale is down the road (twin towned with Mumbles!) We went there for Sunday lunch at Fishy Fishy, all tables outside full by 12 15 then you queue
